Brian Elwin Haner Jr., known as Synyster Gates within the metal area, was born into a musically inclined family.

His father, Brian Haner Sr., is an knowledgeable musician and comedian. Brian has three siblings: McKenna, Brent, esoteric Johnny (not to be mixed up with former bassist Johnny Christ).

Education and Early Career
